About Erin
I’m a professional writer but a practicing mom. I used to say “amateur” until I found out that means something else entirely.
I’m a writer. I used to think I required an assignment to sit down and put words together. And I still do that — you can view my professional portfolio and skills here. But I finally gave myself permission to start writing about my own topics, views, opinions, neuroses and fixations. And lo, there was blog.
I’m a contradiction. My home is in the middle of the country but my worldview isn’t — let’s just say it ain’t easy being green in a red state. I write mostly about my family but I don’t consider myself a true mommy blogger because I think you have to have a critical mass of posts about cupcakes and crafts to do that. I worry a lot about what others will think, but I put it out there anyway.
My voice is developing, just like my parenting skills and the kids I practice them on. I think I’ll keep at it, because just like I tell the three of them, practice makes progress.
I've been a writer a lot longer than I've been a mom. I'm still learning at both. This blog is where I let off a little personal and creative steam.
