RESTAURANTS
THE BUFFET AT BELLAGIO
Bellagio does everything with elegance, even that great equalizer of dining, the buffet. Uncommon offerings such as lamb, venison and wild boar transcend steam-table banality and justify the un-buffet-like prices. The choices are endless, and the crowds can be too, so prepare to wait. Separate line for smokers.
INDIA OVEN
The food and service here are so good, you don't notice the spartan decor once your aromatic appetizers arrive. The on-site tandoor oven seals in sumptuous flavors while perfuming the air and spurring the appetite. Need atmosphere? Get it to go and create your own.
LE PAMPLEMOUSSE
For more than 25 years, Le Pamplemousse has held its own against the onslaught of celebrity-chef competition. The country-French bistro has no set menu, just servers armed with the slate of gourmet daily specials. Slightly secluded and off-Strip, it makes a charming getaway from the glitter.
MON AMI GABI
It's the rare French bistro that's more inviting than intimidating. The steakhouse and sidewalk cafe on the Strip serves its house-special Steak Frites, seafood and seasonal specialties in elegant-casual surroundings accented by rich mahogany and velvet. Al fresco seating affords a spectacular view of Bellagio's dancing fountains.
STAGE DELI
This branch of New York's popular theater-district eatery dutifully doles deli musts such as pastrami, brisket, corned beef hash and potato pancakes. There's plenty of room to stop and nosh in between slot pulls, or you can order your overstuffed sandwiches to go.
NIGHTLIFE
THE BAR AT TIMES SQUARE
The dueling pianos are the big draw here, as the players take requests of sing-along pop favorites and urge the raucous crowd on a form of gin-soaked group karaoke.
PEPPERMILL'S FIRESIDE LOUNGE
The low-lit room wrapped around a water-ringed fire pit is equal parts Old Vegas kitsch and timeless cool. Order a classic tiki-bar cocktail and cuddle in one of the deep-set booths.
VENUS
The tiki bar meets the atomic age at this glamorous two-in-one retro hangout. Swinging singles and comfy couples are equally welcome on the smallish dance floor or the velvet loveseats.
RECREATION
FLYAWAY
Who needs a plane? A puffy suit and a vertical wind tunnel are all it takes to experience the thrill of skydiving, indoors and much closer to Earth.
GARDEN OF THE GODS
Fancy yourself an Olympian in the lap lane or tan like a titan at this luxuriously landscaped three-pool complex that includes spas, cabanas, and a topless area.
MANHATTAN EXPRESS
Swooping around (and sometimes through) the hotel at speeds over 60 mph, the coaster's heartline-twist-and-dive move is nirvana for adrenaline junkies. You can hear the screams over the ride's roar.
MUSEUMS & GALLERIES
HARD ROCK HOTEL ROCK TOUR
Music memorabilia is integrated into the hotel's decor. The Chili Peppers' "lightbulb" outfits line the lounge, Mariah Carey's metal bikini has its own lighted booth, and autographed guitars are everywhere.
GUGGENHEIM HERMITAGE LAS VEGAS
Cutting-edge architect Rem Koolhaas created this thoroughly modern space inside the classically themed Venetian hotel to showcase American and Russian masterpieces from these two prestigious museums' collections.
MADAME TUSSAUD'S
A natural in a city devoted to replicas, the museum stocks its two-story Vegas version with more than 100 figures throughout five rooms. Local favorites include Bugsy, Elvis, and Siegfried and Roy.
